Our foster mom has some important information for the new greyhound owners:
"Frequently, they need time to learn how to socialize (several weeks to a month). Some have been so isolated that they actually are afraid to be affectionate because they may be punished. Hopefully, there was a foster parent involved or some sort of adoption representative there to be a source of information. That was her first night of her life without another Greyhound. The dog is showing signs of mild Dog Separation anxiety (looking for her buddies). I'd recommend getting string cheese and making it into disks and every time she comes she gets a treat. She should also find local Meet and Greets to attend,so she still knows that there are other Greyhounds in the world."
(Thanks again, Sue!)
